Cell Phone Chargers

Owning a phone naturally involves having your own cell phone charger to recharge the cell phone battery. However, there have been some issues, concerns and controversies about cell phone chargers. There is the fact that a lot of users have experienced electric shocks while using them. There have also been cases of burnt cell phones and cell phone chargers because the owner failed to remove or disconnect the phone or cell phone charger from the wall outlet.

There is a significant hazard in using cellphone chargers, which is the reason why most experts would advise to remove or disconnect the cell phone charger from the socket once the phone’s battery is fully charged. The risk for experiencing electric shock is relatively high given that anything which is connected to electricity has the tendency to send off shocks. This is specially true if a person happens to handle the device with wet hands. Also, cases when the cellphone melts down while charging are also true. The phone becomes warm while charging and there have been instances when the phone becomes too hot that the phone literally melts. After all, most cellphones parts including the casing are made from plastics. And the plastic used in cell phones are not heat resistant. Sad to say, 65 percent of consumers leave their cell phone chargers plugged into the wall socket even when not in use.

Despite this, no one can still deny the importance that cellphone charges provides every user. They serve to fuel the battery in order to operate the phone. Without the cell phone chargers, the whole phone unit is practically useless. Take good care of these devices to preserve and lengthen its useful life. Here are some tips to remember:

• Unplug the cellphone charger when not in use.
• Keep it away from water.
• Once a cellphone charger is damaged, seek the help of a professional to diagnose if it can still be used.
• This is not a toy. Do not let kids play with them.
• Use it only with the right phone. The cell phone battery has a specific requirement for the input current. Otherwise, it might not charge properly, or this would shorten the cellphone charger’s useful life, or worse, it might burn or explode.
• Place or keep it in a place where it is free from dust.
